Calvin Kellum joined Abundant Life in September of 2022 after hearing about it from a friend he made in Mississippi on a mission trip.
Born and raised in Crozet, VA, Calvin grew up with very little going on around him so he decided to make sports his way of staying busy. Through playing every sport possible he developed a love for teaching others and wanting other people to love sports as much as he does. He was the assistant coach for his younger brother’s soccer team and decided that coaching and mentoring others is what he wants to do with his life.
Calvin grew up in a very Christian household with his dad being a pastor of a small Baptist church and his mom the church’s Sunday School teacher. In the summer of 2019, he went on a mission trip to Jackson, MS, where he found his fire for the Lord. After he came home a friend he had made in Mississippi told him about Abundant Life, but it wasn’t until a few years later that he actually looked into the ministry and joined the staff.

Since joining Abundant Life, he has been blessed to mentor and spread the gospel of Christ to the Kindergarten – 4th-graders full-time. Calvin works as the Elementary Tutoring Program and Bible Club Coordinator. He also co-coordinates the 5/8 Club with Bruce Boling. Each and every day at Abundant Life is very meaningful to Calvin; he loves the relationships and connections he is able to make. His work and time at Abundant Life have heavily improved his social skills as well as his patience and multi-tasking skills.
