Meet our 2020-21 Fellows Class!

September 3, 2020 | Written by Dylan Rosenthal

We are pleased to introduce our second Abundant Life Fellows class! Under the supervision of Director of Leadership Development Richard Feero, the three members are serving 9-month terms, from August 2020 to May 2021. See below to get to know our Fellows!

Jessie FittroJESSIE FITTRO, Volunteer Coordinator. Jessie Fittro first became involved with Abundant Life in 2014. Since then she has graduated from Gordon College with a B.A. in English Language and Literature and a minor in Business Administration, and has had the opportunity to work in various fields and communities. This year she is grateful to be joining the team as an AmeriCorps VISTA member and part of the Fellows program. Jessie is an avid runner and enjoys spending time outdoors with her dogs as much as possible. She is excited about discovering new hobbies and interests, too, and is looking forward to learning from her experiences this year.

LUÍS SANCHEZ-ROSA, Middle School Tutoring Coordinator. Luís Sanchez-Rosa joins Abundant Life as the new Middle School Tutoring Coordinator. He holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Piedmont Virginia Community College and a BA in Sociology from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia. Luís moved to Prospect Avenue in 2002, progressing through Johnson, Walker, and Buford Tutoring, as well as the 5/8 Club and Discipleship. As a charter member of STRIVE, Luís was one of its first graduates (Charlottesville High School Class of 2014). He thanks Dylan Rosenthal, Richard Feero, and many more men for the values they instilled in him that continue to shape his life. He enjoys conversations on soccer, music, culture, and anything else you may want to talk about.

Zach SimsZACH SIMS, Tutoring Program Assistant. Zach Sims grew up in Earlysville and joins Abundant Life as a Fellow for the 2020-21 year. He is a senior at James Madison University and pursuing a master’s degree in Education and History. He is involved in leading college groups at his church, and loves watching UVa sports and researching for history projects. Zach and his wife Kara live in Pantops as they each pursue their degrees and accumulate way too many house plants.
